These terms explain using HeadlineNow, publishing your words and the rules that apply to purchases.

Who can use HeadlineNow

You must be at least 18 to create an account, publish or interact. Browsing is open without an account. Google or email-code sign-in is required for publishing, reactions, profile changes and Friends. Keep access to your sign-in account secure, use an identity you are entitled to use and do not evade an account restriction with another account.

Publishing and paid delivery

A headline is one text entry of up to 300 Unicode characters. You may publish up to three new headlines per America/New_York calendar day. Hiding an entry does not restore a daily slot. The board shows ten entries per page, ordered by cumulative amount; the earlier entry to reach an equal total ranks first. A raise adds only its additional amount and does not use a new headline slot.

New headlines start at $1 and raises at $1, in whole US dollars. Your chosen amount is the final USD checkout total and counts in full toward ranking. Applicable tax is included, with no tax added on top. A raise charges only the additional amount you choose. For a paid purchase, payment buys publication or an increased ranking amount for the time remaining on that day’s board after successful confirmation and delivery. It does not buy 24 hours. The day ends at midnight in America/New_York, including daylight-saving changes.

Other people may outrank you at any time. We do not promise a particular rank, number of views, clicks, reactions or commercial outcome. The pricing and delivery page explains the service in more detail. The refund policy applies to delivery failures, duplicate payments, cancellations and other refund requests.

Dodo Payments hosts checkout. For paid purchases through that checkout, Dodo acts as merchant of record, handling payment collection, applicable transaction taxes and refunds. Dodo’s own checkout identifies its buyer terms. These HeadlineNow terms do not replace your rights under those terms or applicable law.

Your content and the archive

You retain ownership of your words and profile content. You give HeadlineNow a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, format, reproduce and display that content worldwide only as needed to operate the service, its archives, profiles and sharing features, including through our service providers. This permission does not let us sell your content for unrelated uses.

Publish only material you have the right to share. Published headline text is locked to preserve its history. You can add a follow-up or hide your headline from public display. Account and content removal requests go through support. Public content may be copied by others, and we cannot recall copies or shared images outside the service. Necessary private records may remain as described in the privacy notice.

Community rules and review

Jokes, feelings, stories and clearly marked promotions are welcome. Do not publish threats, targeted harassment, hateful abuse, sexual content, exploitation, scams, illegal offers, someone else’s private information or material that infringes another person’s rights. Do not impersonate people, automate spam, manipulate displays or reactions, evade limits or disrupt the service.

Promotions must be marked and follow the same rules. Do not use a headline to facilitate prohibited transactions or offer regulated financial, medical or legal services. User statements and linked websites are not endorsements by HeadlineNow.

Report a headline using its report control or email support with its link and the reason. We review reports and may hide content, restrict account actions or suspend access to address misuse or protect the service. Review is handled manually; we do not offer continuous moderation or a guaranteed response time. Ask for reconsideration by emailing support with the affected link or account and any relevant context.

Removing content for a suspected rule violation does not automatically decide a refund. We review what was delivered, the reason for removal and applicable consumer and payment-provider rights under the refund policy.

Encore and service changes

Each final top-ten headline earns one free Encore seat for the next Eastern day. You can use it or invite a friend. A pending invitation can be revoked or transferred; once accepted, the seat belongs to that friend until the day ends. Seats expire at that day’s midnight and have no cash alternative. Reactions and Encore seats do not buy a paid-board rank.

We may change the service or these terms, with an updated date on this page. Changes do not remove rights attached to an earlier purchase. Interruptions or closure affecting paid delivery are handled under the refund policy. Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
